Ill pets are being deprived treatment because their owners have not taken out adequate insurance cover. Many pet owners have been tricked into buying cheap, low-cost annual cover which does not cover treatment for repeat illnesses the following year leaving many pets without necessary treatment or the owner out of pocket.
Pet owners who opted for the more expensive ‘lifetime cover’ would be entitled to treatment as part of their insurance policy but their premiums would rise at the end of the year.
