A survey conducted by British Airways has shown that one in four Britons plans to fit their holiday plans around the Olympics.
The report revealed that over 40% of Brits have already made arrangements to plan their getaways around this summer’s games, with as many as one in ten even cancelling their breaks abroad to watch the Olympics, with others claiming the sporting event was behind their reasons for not having booked a holiday yet.
Interestingly, the results appear to differ from region to region. Whilst 89% of Northern Ireland residents surveyed said they would change their plans in order to see more of the event, the amount of Londoners answering with the same response fell to just 39%. How people intend to watch the games also seems to be split, this time through age, with the younger generation preferring to watch the action from the stadium itself, whilst the over 55s appear to be happiest watching it through their TV screens.
