Credit Card Issuance On The Rise Again

The number of credit cards in England has increased for the third month running. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s latest statistics, over 128,000 credit cards were approved in May bringing the total to 17.9million- the highest since March 2011. A senior official in charge of credit cards at a foreign bank said: "Most banks have resumed credit card business in the last 12-15 months. But some large banks were still reducing their card base, as delinquency rates were high. Hence, the outstanding number has been declining till the beginning of this calendar year".
